Our clients had a huge silver maple tree taken down which left an empty space in their backyard. After it was removed, we took advantage of the gentle slope and constructed an upper level to bring in warm tones with the beautiful natural stone wall, steps, and flagstone grilling patio. A custom core-drilled bubbling boulder fills the backyard with a tranquil ambiance. We introduced new plantings and regraded the backyard bringing in fresh topsoil and Kentucky bluegrass sod. We have a reputation for details, so we added Creeping Thyme to the flagstone patio which will blanket over the stones and soften the edges. When thyme is stepped on it releases a citrus scent which is a bonus. The bubbling boulder feature really is one of a kind with its veining and shape. One trick we pulled off with the garden wall was chipping up a flagstone patio piece into filler pieces to add a contrasting color to the tan and brown tones.
