Yay it’s vacation week, I’m travelling on Friday so these next days are going to be so busy getting ready to head out. You may consider that I’m away from today. I’m keeping descriptions short and I won’t be able to be as engaging with comments. But apart from that I’m OH SO EXCITED to have time away with family, I don’t foresee much rest in my immediate future though because - have you vacationed with family before? They want to do everything and go everywhere. I’m always the downer in the group, I’m always the one saying ‘go ahead guys I’ll catch up with you later’ because geeeesh, I am the CEO of Angela Inc and only I can control my energy levels (ps God is the president of the board or actually scratch that God is the CEO AND Board President of Angela Inc🤦‍♀️🙏😅). Ok, speaking about God (nice segueway), Mass yesterday was AMAZING. It was extra special because UPJOE and I went to confession on Saturday evening so we were refreshed for receiving Holy Communion on Sunday. Mehn it’s the most humbling thing kneeling before Christ and saying forgive me for I have sinned, I’ve done this and that and I’m so so sorry and with your help i will strive to never do it again. Each reading at Mass hit profoundly. The first reading spoke to my heart. It was about when Elijah was soooooo tired in life that he wished he were dead. God sent an angel to help him and sent him food to eat in the middle of the night, to strengthen him for the journey ahead. So so relatable. We are talking about one of the most anointed greatest prophets of God. This person encountered God deeply in so many ways and even he got depressed to the point of wanting to be dead? Let’s be so foreal rn. It goes to show depression and suicidal thoughts are REAL. The battle is REAL for all kinds of people. The reading shows us that talking to God and asking for His help in such moments can really help us through. Let’s offer a prayer to all those facing such thoughts; Lord please i beg you to help us never to wish for our own death. I pray that, like with Elijah, you continue to feed our body and soul to strengthen us for the journey ahead. And for those who have gone before us, may they continue to rest in peace and please strengthen their families left behind.
