Oven Baked Jamaican Oxtail | Mom's Oxtail in the Oven, Jamaican Style

Welcome to Our Family Pantry! Today we are showing you my Mom's recipe for Jamaican Oxtail baked in the oven. We also have a video that Mom made demonstrating how to cook Oxtail on the stove here    • Authentic Jamaican Oxtail | Grandma’s...   Ingredients: Oxtail - 1 whole 1 whole onion, chopped 1 Tablespoon Garlic, chopped 2 Teaspoons, Dried Parsley 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil 6 fresh springs, Fresh Thyme 1/2 Teaspoon, Pimento ground (also called Jamaican Allspice) 1.5 Teaspoons Browning Seasoning 2 Teaspoons Salt (more if desired) 1 Teaspoon Black Pepper 1 Scotch Bonnet Pepper, kept whole (Habanero can be substituted) 1 Can Butter beans, drained 1-2 Cups Water for braising Clean the oxtail with vinegar and water. Mix all ingredients together (except except water and butter beans) and marinate overnight. Preheat oven to 400*. Place Oxtail and seasonings into a baking dish and spread out evenly. Add water around the oxtail and cover with foil. Bake for 2.5 hours. Remove from oven and add butter beans and mix into Oxtail. Cover again and return to oven to cook a remaining 30 minutes. At 3 hours cooking time test the Oxtail and make sure it is falling off the bones. If it's not, return it to the oven and cook 20-30 minutes more. Enjoy!
