Joan is a retired Catholic high school vice principal who continues to do talks and workshops in the areas of spirituality, wellness, and support for 2SLGBTQ+ youth. She identifies as a gay woman and has worked with gay and transgender youth for many years in her roles as high school teacher, chaplain, guidance counselor, and administrator. Joan is the author of a book entitled “A Deepening Life” which details her journey to live consciously, and help others do the same. It is available online at all major bookstores, but is most reasonably priced at volumesdirect.com. In her leisure time Joan enjoys reading, writing, travelling, kayaking, cycling, and golfing. Her undergraduate degree is a joint honours in English and Religious studies from St Jerome’s university. Her bachelor of education is from Brock university, and her Masters in Theological studies (with a concentration in counselling) was begun at Notre Dame in Southbend Indiana and completed at Wilfred Laurier.
