Are you frustrated with trying to get a realistic sounding piano on your computer? Or are you just looking for the best sounding pianos out there? This guide will teach you how to mix piano by teaching you the most "extreme" settings that can be combined for huge piano tones. Use your ears and taste to figure out how much you should dial things back. The more instruments there are in the mix, the simpler the piano processing should be. Here's the process I use: 1. Start with a good plugin 2. Clean up the midi data of the piano performance 3. Tweak the piano settings in the VST 4. External EQ, then compression 5. Duplicate the piano and reverse the stereo field. Tweak sound to be complimentary. Blend to taste 6. Create 2 send FX. One should be a plate reverb and the other a room or hall reverb.
