After Harold Bishop feel off rocks and into the sea in 1991 (episode 1520), he left behind only his glasses and was presumed dead. Madge moved on and moved away from Ramsay Street. Five years later in 1996 (episode 2733), Harold reappeared as Salvation Army volunteer Ted. He had suffered from amnesia after the accident and had no memory of his previous life. Having to visit Ramsay Street to collect Cheryl's clothes, Harold was overcome with a strange sensation and crossed paths with Helen Daniels. She contacted Madge who came back to Ramsay Street to see if it was true and to try and reconnect with Harold.
