Anekere Channakeshava Temple Channarayapattana tourism Hassan Tourism Karnataka tourism Sri Channakeshava Temple located at Anekere( ಆನೆಕೆರೆ ) Village, Channarayapatna Taluk, Hassan District, Karnataka. The ancient Chennakesava Temple, was built in 1119 AD. Sri Channakeshava Temple at Anekere, has been beautifully restored under the able Guidance of Sri.Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Sri Veerendra Hegde in recent years.The entrance of the temple is beautifully carved with pillars and place to sit.The temple is built in Hoysala style and has a big open space around the temple.On the top of the temple, one can find finely carved Kalasha which is unique in its style and is of the biggest in size. Historical Details is the temple is built in Hoysala Style, Facing South and has three Kutas, hence known as Trikuta . The temple is dedicated to 'Lord Chennakeshava (Vishnu)'. The two distinct features of this temple are the Temple Compound Wall and the Khalasa on the Temple Shikara. The Khalasa here is supposedly the largest one found in the state. The temple is not yet under the purview of the ASI. As the priest was unavailable during our visit, the only information we got of the temple from the locals was that it was built by the Hoysalas. Anekere is a Village in Channarayapatna Taluk in Hassan District of Karnataka State, India. It belongs to Mysore Division .
