“Keeping up with our changing lakes: 50+ years of data from the IISD Experimental Lakes Area”, presented by Thomas Selah, International Institute for Sustainable Development – Experimental Lakes Area. Presentation featured during Lake Links 2024, recorded on October 26, 2024. Thomas Selah is a policy advisor with the International Institute for Sustainable Development. His research focuses on the impact of innovations in data and technology on environmental science and freshwater management. As part of this work, Thomas has been leading efforts to leverage machine learning and cloud computing for analyzing those great big long learning data sets for the Experimental Lakes Area. -- ABOUT LAKE LINKS Since 2002, Lake Links has allowed waterfront associations, students, volunteers, and community groups in Eastern Ontario and beyond to come together with government and non-government agencies to listen to speakers, share information, and address common lake and river issues that matter most to our communities. This one-day workshop is held every October.
