His other two victories leading to the title game came at the expense of Bill Coleman, 227-178, and Earl Anthony, 255-212, after Coleman had opened the finals with a 257-247 decision over Ernie Schlegel. Hudson finished with nine straight strikes in his match against Dickinson to win the biggest first prize of his career, $12,000, in front of week-long capacity crowds at Sunnybrook Lanes.
