"Gott" to get those sailboats out of the way! The Edwin H Gott Departing Duluth after repairs!

Pictures of the arrival:   / duluthshipphotography   About this visit: They arrived Duluth MN for the 7th time this season July 20, 2024 at 06:49 in the morning for some service work at Port Terminal. They pulled into Port, cruising by my cameras at a pace of 3.6 Kts. They pulled into the Port Terminal dock at 07:30 and began ballasting out the stern to get her "butt" in the air to repair the stern tube coffer. July 21 at 11:30 they finished up , pulled out of Port Terminal Dock 1, slide perpendicular over to the Cenovus dock to load fuel. At 14:05 they completed the fueling, spun around to depart Duluth. At 14:47 they departed Duluth at 5.7 Kts, heading to the CN Two Harbors dock to load ore for Gary Indiana. Extra info, just because for some reason I logged it, they pulled into Two Harbors at 16:33, finished loading and departed CN July 22 at 03:44.. M/V Edwin H. Gott The vessel is named after Edwin H. Gott, a former president of the United States Steel Corporation. Did You Know? The vessel was constructed by Bay Shipbuilding Company in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, USA. It was launched in 1978 and entered service in 1979. The vessel is a self-unloading bulk carrier with a maximum carrying capacity of around 74,100 gross tons. It is primarily designed for transporting iron ore and other bulk cargoes on the Great Lakes. The Edwin H. Gott is equipped with a self-unloading system, allowing it to discharge its cargo without the need for shoreside equipment. This feature enhances its efficiency in the transport of bulk materials. The bulk carrier primarily operates on the Great Lakes, transporting iron ore and other commodities between ports on the Great Lakes.
