For the last few days, we have been letting geese loose on our farm here in rural Thailand. The reason is to get them used to the farming environment before they become 100% free-range geese. At the moment, we are keeping 5 geese in total. Vince is our big male goose who is in charge of things & takes care of the others. If you are thinking of keeping geese in the future, they make excellent additions to a farm. They love to eat tough, long grass with lots of weed seeds & have a great character to go with lots of free goose manure. We aren't raising geese for meat or eggs but would like to increase their numbers to significantly impact the evolution of the farm.
