Yasur volcano eruption with lava bombs and lightning. The distance from the crater where the filming was done and to the eruption was about 200 meters. It was filmed with a Sony a6000 with SEL1670Z lens. Mount Yasur is a 361m high stratovolcano with a nearly circular, 400-m-wide summit crater. The volcano is located on Tanna island in Vanuatu and is one of the most active volcanoes in the world. Mount Yasur is known for its persistent strombolian activity that consists of regular small to violent explosions from one or several vents and this style of activity may have continued for the past 800 years. Because of the importance of the volcano to the tourism industry in Tanna, the local government has created levels to restrict people’s access: Lvl.0 Normal Lvl.1 Signs of Volcanic Unrest Lvl.2 Major unrest Lvl.3 Minor eruption Lvl.4 Moderate eruption Lvl.5 Very large eruption Video was recorded on the 7th of January 2017 while the volcano was at Level 2.
