This video is about the "Hospital Strategic Planning", the first step in the hospital life cycle journey. Based on the outcomes of this step, I mean the outcomes of strategic planning feasibility study, either the approval to the hospital project to move in will be granted the green light or the project will be canceled. In the case of approval, the second step will be the master plan. In the first part, we will talk about the major reasons behind the demand to develop a hospital strategic plan. Consequently, “why we need to have hospital strategic plan?”. In the second part, we will talk about the strategic planning process. In this part, we will start with general definition of strategic plan. After, we will talk about healthcare strategic plan, and its four steps: understanding, analyzing, planning and acting. Then, we will watch video about the development of strategic plan at the Huggins Hospital. The third part will discuss the relationship between hospital strategic plan and hospital annual budget. This will clarify why hospital planner should have detailed knowledge about the preparation and development of hospital annual budget. This means: assets, revenue and expenses or costs. Finally, we will have more information about the Humber River Hospital. Then, we will watch two videos about “the Humber River Hospital”, the first fully digital hospital in North America built based on the Z8000 Canadian Healthcare Facilities standard developed by the Canadian Standard Group, known as the CSG Group.
