In my own life, this past month I have been spending more money than I normally do; however, I have been able to lower my expenses and save money by being more intentional. In this video, I share 10 ways to save money when life gets more expensive. 1. Give Yourself A Long Window To Prepare There are some expenses in life that come at a complete surprise and there is no way to prepare for them; however, many expenses in life we know ahead of time they are coming. One way to make save money when life gets expensive is to give yourself a long window to prepare for it so you do not have tons of expenses coming at you at once. 2. Don’t Forgo Prevention When life gets expensive, it is very easy to get caught up in all the things you need to do that you forgo preventing things from getting worse. It is important to make sure you are maintaining your things regardless of what is going on so you don't have additional expenses. 3. Spread Out Your Purchases Another way to save money when life gets expensive is to pay off certain expenses ahead of time. When you give yourself a window to prepare, if you pay off things little by little in advance, it becomes a lot more manageable. 4. Focus On Accomplishing One Task Before Moving On To The Next Whenever life gets expensive and you have many things to pay for, it is easy to get caught up in the big picture of all the things you need to do. Instead, focus on one expense, get it paid for, and move on to the next expense. This makes it much more manageable and less stressful. 5. Prioritize What Needs To Be Done Now And What Can Wait Some expenses in life need to be dealt with right away while others can wait. It is good to create a priority list of what you need to pay for now and what can wait. This can allow you to avoid paying for everything at once. 6. Find Cheaper Alternatives If you are strategic with your spending and do research to find cheaper alternatives you can save money and make it more manageable. 7. Ask For Help Instead Of Money Seeking help from other people is a great way to lower your expenses. Most people are willing and able to help you with certain tasks like moving or driving you somewhere; however, many people are not willing to help when it comes to loaning money. It is important to seek help from people instead of asking for money. 8. Be Careful of The Small Purchases When you have many large expenses coming all at once, it is easy to not see the significance of the little expenses. Small purchases can quickly add up to a much bigger expense if you are not paying attention. It is important to treat small purchases just as significant as big purchases. 9. Accept Your Limitations When life starts to get overwhelming and chaotic and you have multiple expenses coming at you at once, it is easy to start putting unrealistic expectations on yourself like over working or being extremely productive. This can often harm you in the end and so it is important to accept your limitations. 10. Always Be Ready To Take A Financial Hit It doesn't matter if life is getting more expensive or it is normal, you should always be preparing for a financial hit because they can come at any moment. It is important to always be living below your means and saving as much as you can so that when life gets more expensive, you're prepared, and it doesn't affect you as much. ** Links above are affiliate links where if you click and order, I will receive a commission at no cost to you. **
