Oswegatchie River, Section 3 and 4, NY

7/13/2024 Level: visual gauge, level medium/ high Paddlers: James Malek, Patrick Craft, Tony Giafagna, Phil Lemarche, Jake Schipper, Liam Pervis, David Loewen, Hollis Braun, Michael Hunt This section of whitewater is some of the biggest and best whitewater ive ever paddled. Massive drops, massive pools, and tons of absolute fun! Section three has some of the best rapids while section 4 has amazing big drops, but both of them are class 4-5 fun. Rainbow Falls is the penultimate drop on section 3, with a ledge drop into a 35-footer, which is oh so sweet. The biggest drop on section 4 is sluice falls, a 3 tiered rapid where you ride the wall. I portaged this one, along with another drop called trash can. This river is a high-class destination, normally brought in only by massive spring rains, so I'm blessed to catch it on a hot summer day!
