Repetition can be critical for us to remember things when they are brand new to us or very triggering. When something is brand new to us, we have no intellectual context for it. The context is like a coat hook to grab onto a new idea. Without that mental hook, the idea falls on the ground: it gets forgotten. With triggering ideas and ideas we don't want to believe, we need to hear they repeatedly. More importantly, we need to sincerely investigate the truth of them.
