[4K] 🇲🇽 Mexico City Suburban Rail | Tren Suburbano

The Mexico City suburban rail system currently consists of 1 line between CDMX and Cuautitlan. The line opened in 2008 and is set to have the first extension to Mexico City's newest airport open in 2024. The line is private and is not part of the city or the state's transit entities meaning to pay you must buy a seperate transit card sold by Tren Suburbano. The trains used on the line are derived from the 447 series trains used on suburban rail systems in Spain. They have a red and white livery with a bit of black and are 4 cars long. Platforms have capacity for trains up to 8 cars long which are used during peak hours. Fares depend on the length of the journey but don't go over $20 MXN and are paid using the systems unique transit card. There are currently plans to unify the line with the rest of the city's fare system in the future. The line has good frequency and is very safe making it an excellent way to get to the north of the city and soon the airport. I fully recommend anyone in need to use it as it is also very cheap.
