The Andrea Bocelli Foundation was created (in 2011) to help people in difficulty due to illness, poverty and social exclusion by promoting and supporting national and international projects that foster the overcoming of such barriers and help them to realize their full potential. The Foundation works with two area programs: The“Break the Barriers” operates to support and promote projects that help the weaker classes of the population in Italy and in Developing Countries, especially Haiti, in which conditions of poverty, illnesses, malnutrition and complex social situations nullify or reduce their expectations of life. The Foundation aims at promoting intervention in favour of health, education and social integration and wants to do so by measuring, as far as possible, the effects of its intervention with the objective of constant improvement. The “Challenges Program” aims to bring together the best minds to find innovative solutions, helping people to cope with and overcome the limits imposed by their disability or discomfort. The program operates within the area of scientific and technological research and social innovation, accepting major challenges in terms of both investments and results to be achieved in the willingness to allow anyone who experiences economic or social difficulties to express themselves.
