In this video, I take down the boss Shaorune from Tales of Rebirth with Veigue only and without taking any damage. This fight is part of one of the main Solo runs from my channel. *Details about the fight below!* ╔════════════ ║Description ╚════════════ No. I don't think I need to explain more. This is the worst designed boss I've ever seen and even 3 years after first fighting him, nothing has changed. Shaorune is filled with stupidity, cheap mechanics and annoying voices. He can't be staggered He can spam an homing laser that reaches 80% of the battlefield He can fly away and jumping won't even let you reach him He changes lines constantly to escape your attacks He has a high rate to trigger the Hold effect and combo you. His Aura attack can chain into itself due to Hold +1.5 He can instant cast Splash He can almost instant cast Spread Blue and Aqua Stream (both are almost instant death) He can use his Hi-Ougi every damn minute That sounds legit. Not pleased with the previous version despite promising myself to never do this again, I decided to remake this fight with an overly aggressive approach. Staying close is the best way to get raped by this monster, so I needed something to protect myself. The Silver Gauntlet is the best tool for this fight and completely mandatory. However, it requires pretty strict timing, especially for the Aura attack, the laser one and Aquarius Sphere. Spread Blue is also an annoying one. It has a huge lingering hitbox and the position of the water pillars is random. That doesn't help at all. My second option is to use moves that push Veigue behind the enemy. Those moves usually have a few i-frames but most importantly completely confuse the enemy and let you avoid frontal attacks. The last option is to actually use jumps. Surprisingly, there is a handful of attacks you can easily dodge when jumping. Not such a useless feature after all.
