Benson Creek, Parowan, UT
Benson Creek is a beginner friendly cool canyon just northeast of Cedar City and south of Parowan UT. During summer, while temperature in most parts of southern UT hits over 100F, where this canyon sits slightly higher in elevation and has flowing water providing air conditioning effects during the technical route. It has 4 straightforward (but slippery) rappels, 1 off of a big tree and 3 off of bolts, with the longest one being 105' long. The approach and exits are on the trails, no bushwhacking required. The middle of the technical section before the last rappel is a beautiful walk through creek bed cradled by layering blocky rock walls.
