How to Make and Applying Gelatin Effects - Prosthetic Transfers #3

Our third video in our Prosthetic Transfer series will explain how to create gelatin prosthetic effects using store bought products. Including Knox Gelatin, Sorbitol and Glycerin which were all purchased at a local grocery story in the pharmacy section. This is a consumer grade gelatin and not recommended for use in creating large prosthetics only small wounds, bullet holes and scars. Prosthetic grade gelatin is a 300 Bloom. Knox Gelatin is around 150 Bloom which means, Knox Gelatin is not as dense and not as durable. But we show you in this video that consumer grade gelatin (Knox Gelatin) can still be used for small prosthetics when in a pinch or if you would like to just try it out as a test makeup. WARNING: The mixture can be very hot. It is recommended that you use protective eye glasses, protective clothing and insulated heat resistant gloves while mixing and heating the chemicals in this video. Ingredients used for Gelatin Prosthetics: 1/4 cup (6 to 8 packets) Knox Gelatin 1/3 cup Sorbitol 1/3 cup Glycerin .5 gms (1/2 of a 1/4 tsp.) Crushed Makeup Compact .07 gms (1/2 of a 1/4 tsp.)
