Displays overflowing with colourful, exotic fruit, vendors selling delicious street food like bakso and martabak, crowds of smiling locals navigating the crowded alleyways, and of course, always music and laughter in the air. In this video, we visit the Saturday open-air market in the village of Tomok (Samosir Island, Lake Toba) to stock up on our favourite fruits and vegetables. It's always so interesting to chat with the locals, marvel over the super-sized fruit (in comparison to NZ produce!) and browse the used clothing stalls.
