An old Sansui BA-3000 power amplifier. This one had a failed VU meter that I was asked to investigate. https://www.orangevalleysystems.com/e... This video takes a look at the inside of the amplifier. Even though it's got a huge heatsink it's NOT a class A amplifier, it's just got a lot of power transistors. There isn't a lot of electronics in it as it's just a stereo power amplifier, although it's powerful at 170w per channel. There's none of the usual tone controls or input selector switches. It has a single pair of phono inputs for hooking up to a preamp. A lot of vintage amplifiers had a switch to isolate the power amp section from the preamp section so it was fairly easy to hook up a power amp such as this to the preamp output of a different amplifier.
