2007 Victory Vegas 8-Ball regulator/rectifier issues?

I assume with it putting out so many volts it is causing my issues I am having which is after a bit the bike will start running really rough and I have to twist the throttle rapidly so it does not die, then it will clear up for a sec and do it again. the other day I rode it to work which is about 25 miles and all was good, at 3:30pm when I got out of work after idling for 5 minutes it started running really bad, for the next 5 miles to go were I was getting it inspected it ran bad, had to keep reving it so it would not die. after being at the inspection place for 20 minutes, I fired it up, ran great, ran perfect at 70mph down the interstate for 24 miles then 1 mile from my exit it started bucking like it was loosing fuel or skipping, not sure then once I got off the interstate it cleared up the rest of the way home. I will not take it to far now until I get I figured out. would the regulator cause all that? getting to much voltage and making the bike run crazy? update: 5/16/22, ordered a new regulator/rectifier, I will update after install. have a new starter coming as well, it wqs filled with oil. I found that issue when I removed one of the screws that hold the rectifier in place.
