In 1994, Kim and I were financially free. Many people assumed we had amassed millions of dollars in savings. But that’s not the case. What we did do, for the previous 5 years, was amass cash flow. Our goal was simple: have more money coming in every month from investments than was going out in living expenses. By 1994 we were free. Our money was working hard for us, instead of us working hard for our money. People kept asking us, “How did you do it?” and “Can you teach me to do that?” Our challenge became how do we teach people to do what we did to become financially free, without having to travel all over the world teaching people ourselves. We asked ourselves, “What if we could combine investing, one of the scariest subjects when it comes to money, and accounting, probably the most boring subjects, and create a fun and entertaining board game that teaches people exactly what we did?” So, we created CASHFLOW the board game to teach people how we became free. This allowed people all over the world to become free, too. People like YOU! A few years after we launched the CASHFLOW game the New York Times newspaper called us and said they wanted to do a story on the game. We were ecstatic! One day the journalist writing the story called us and asked, “Did you know that you have a CASHFLOW Club here in New York with about 1,000 members?” We said, “No, we didn’t know that.” Then he went on to say, “I’ve been doing some research and do you know there are CASHFLOW Clubs all over the world?” We were stunned and speechless. We had no idea. Some groups meet at coffee shops, some at people’s offices. One club meets once a month at their favorite pizza parlor. The lesson we learned about the importance of joining a CASHFLOW Club is that you get to play the game often. Repetition is how we learn. The CASHFLOW Clubs—led by people like you—are reaching people and doing the work that we cannot do. We are so very grateful for every CASHFLOW Club that exists for the sole purpose of improving people’s financial lives.
