Qt as cross-platform technology makes it easy to develop applications for a wide spectrum of target devices, but with great power comes great responsibility. You need to take care of the quality of your application and depending on the size of your project, it requires a lot of effort to build it, test, generate installers or app bundles and finally release it. With every supported platform, the whole process is getting even more ineffective and frustrating. During the talk, I will convince you that CI/CD setup is crucial to achieving strategic objectives, especially for long-term projects. You will learn what are the challenges that you can face while building your own setup, what tools to use, and what steps should be executed in CI/CD pipelines to ensure that your app meets quality criteria. Finally, there will be an example of CI/CD designed using GitLab CI/CD for Qt project targeted to Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android. This talk will not cover designing CI/CD for embedded devices or GUI testing. About the speaker: After falling in love with the Qt framework, Lukas spent few years developing his skills and working as a freelancer or contractor developer. He has experience working on cross-platform Qt projects for various industries such as health care, automotive, consumer electronics, and defense. Lukas describes himself as a specialist in QML development with strong expertise in C++. Despite being specialized in Qml, he values features coming with Qt Widgets in the context of desktop UI development. As a result of his passion for Qt development and natural ability to organize people, he decided to found Scythe Studio – Qt software services company.
