The Long Fin Green Dragon Pleco Eggs Hatched. Ancistrus Breeding & Care Update In this video I will discuss how you can care For new born pleco fry. Often times the natural way in which catfish and cave dwelling fish raise their young and give birth, ends up needing a bit of practice. In this video I will show you a cheap way to set up a secondary take using sponge filters to aerate and incubate the eggs, as well as how this tank will be home to the fry for the first month or two, before tossing them back into the main tank to grow out. This is one way to keep safe, the newborn plecco * fry in order to stop the mother, father, and predators (snails, fungi, rot, bacteria, fish or shrimp) from eating the eggs in the cave. This is not an in depth video on the water parameters and methods for raising or caring for ancistrus, bristlenose catfish ( algea eaters ) as a whole, but rather an overview of what new born, baby sucker fish / algea eating catfish look like and how they behave as wigglers, wrigglers and larval state fish, still forming ....and getting nutrition from their yolk sacks, prior to free swimming and savaging for food. As long as there are no real predators in the hatching tank, and it is warm and well aerated the young fish should be fine.
