Continuation of the elevators on the RV-7A, my homebuilt experimental airplane. These pieces are massively challenging, the metalwork, prep, planning, and assembly are all a bit more challenging than anything yet. The left elevator includes electronic trim, which involves a servo, switches, lights, and hardware—which I've been dying to bust into since I inventoried the pieces. It slows me down a bit, but ultimately most of it gets shelved until later. There is also some metalwork involved in bending the tabs to close the edge of the elevator near the trim tab. Clamps and guides have to be made and implemented to get a nice fold in the metal. ------------ I'm Ryan, an aviation enthusiast who has decided to build his own plane and publish the entire thing online for others to watch along. The plane is a two-person experimental kit built aluminum plane capable of over 200 miles per hour, and a range of nearly 700 miles. The kit is manufactured by Van's Aircraft, one of the most prolific kit providers on the planet. The airplane is aerobatic, functional, and fun. The build is challenging, time consuming, fun and rewarding. Check out my instagram @ryanflyspdx Please like and subscribe if you are enjoying—it really helps what I'm doing here!
