Our visit to the National Trust Bodiam Castle in East Sussex

A tour around Bodiam Castle in East Sussex. This beautiful moated castle is part of our Historic England series of videos. 🔗    • Historic England   Our tour starts with a quick glimpse of the team room & shop at the entrance to Bodiam Castle, before a walk over the grounds, past the World War Two Pillbox to the beautiful 14th-century castle surrounded by its very own moat. We walk around the castle to the wooden walkway leading to the massive stone gatehouse with its ancient wooden portcullis. Once inside we discover the ruins of the castle and explore its layout. This includes the huge kitchens and a mysterious waterhole. We then climb the Postern Tower to enjoy views oner the East Sussex countryside and admire the interior of the castle. Leaving the castle, we wander under the murder holes and back cross the moat. We complete a lap of Bodiam Castle and take in the views from all angles. We take a quick look at that World War Two Pillbox in the castle grounds. We complete the tour of Bodiam by taking a stroll down to Bodiam Station and the East Sussex terminus of the Kent & East Sussex Railway heritage line.
