The client's brief was clear: to craft a modest abode that optimizes natural light and ventilation while maintaining a sense of privacy. The architects skillfully responded by creating a design that effortlessly merges indoor and outdoor spaces, elevating the overall living experience. Drawing inspiration from the tropical climate, the architectural form of Inara House is a harmonious blend of traditional Kerala influences and contemporary design elements. Strategically positioned at the eastern end of the site, the house maximizes its visual appeal. The front facade is adorned with two meticulously placed sloping roofs resting on a triangular wall with an exposed concrete finish, echoing the essence of traditional Kerala architecture. The interior layout embraces an open concept, with a central passage serving as the connective thread between various spaces within the house. Varying floor levels, soaring ceilings, and porous partitions enhance visual transparency while promoting passive cooling through effective ventilation and the stack effect. The heart of the home is a double-height family living area, a tranquil gathering space bathed in natural light and surrounded by lush greenery, seamlessly linking the main active zones of the house. The staircase, a minimalist design element, acts as a subtle divider between the formal and informal living areas, preserving the visual openness.
