Transform a tin can and bring light to a forgotten place. There was once a wide, windswept place, near nowhere and close to forgotten, that was filled with all the things that no one wanted... As part of The Tin Forest, an international arts project created by the National Theatre of Scotland and part of the Glasgow 2014 Cultural Programme, people across Glasgow, Scotland and the Commonwealth are being invited to illuminate and bring back to life a local forgotten space at the official transition from Winter to Spring on Thursday 20th March 2014. The Springburn Park event (entrance via Broomfield Rd nr St Monance Street, Springburn, Glasgow G21) will also take place between 6.45 and 8.00pm. Visitors are invited to gather at The Winter Gardens for a light and sound installation and The Waiting Room experience. The Beardmore Park (West Muir St, East End, Glasgow, G31 5BU) event is a gathering to plant the flowers. You can arrive any time between 6.45 and 8.00pm. This video shows teachers, parents and community group leaders how to make a lantern for our Light Up event on Thursday 20th March. Children undertaking any part of the process should be closely supervised by an adult.
