Whenever I get really stuck in a rut with my artwork or unable to continue a piece I mess it up on purpose to help get rid of my artist block. Whether it's using paint and my hands to smear over everything I've done, going at it with paint pens, or ink, or just a bunch of random brushstrokes that make no sense, that usually helps me out. Forces me to get stated working, lest the painting be forever this shameful messy thing.
