Come along as we paddle the Pennsylvania stretch of the Mahoning River. From Lowellville, Ohio launch to the McKinney Russell launch is over 8 miles and took around 3 hours going at a leisurely pace. A beautiful stretch of river that was once ridiculously polluted, it's gotten a lot better but still advisable to not drink the water or kick up too much sediment getting in and out of your watercraft. There is a bike path (Stavich Bike Trail) that parallels the river on the north end so if you only have one car you are able to do the river that way. Drop all of your gear off at the Lowellville launch, drive down to the McKinney Russell Launch, leave your car there and ride your bike to the nearby Stavich Bike Trail, the trail is a quarter of a mile from the launch so you will have to bike along the road and up a hill to get to the bike trail. The whole trail is paved but gets rough as soon as you get to Ohio.
