A Very Rainy and Foggy Day at Shenandoah National Park - September 17, 2024

Spent a day with my dad driving along Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park, but the weather wasn't the best. Most of the day trip, which ended up lasting over 12 hours, was shrouded by fog... so what you have here is what was actually viewable. The scenic Shenandoah National Park in Virginia was established in 1935 and is comprised of almost 200,000 acres. There's plenty of hiking, scenic overlooks along Skyline Drive, wildlife, waterfalls, cemeteries, ruins and remnants of former residents (who were displaced when the park was formed), and so more to see and experience. Cemeteries are beautiful, peaceful places to reflect and I want to help preserve the the way they looked at a certain time. I contribute regularly to Find A Grave and I've been thanked numerous times by relatives and researchers for documenting places they may not be able to visit. I mean no disrespect and sometimes spend time tidying up places that don't necessarily receive it on a regular basis.
