Response Spectrum Analysis of Multistoried RCC Building in ETABS (NBC 105:2020) - Online Training

This video is a clip of our ongoing online training course on Design of RCC Building in ETABS based on both NBC 105:2020 and IS 1893 Code. Our online workshop on Design of Multistory Steel Structure is beginning soon. Design of Residential/Commercial Steel Building covers a period of about 12 days and in this course, we will deal with a 3 to 4 storied Residential/Commercial Steel Building with Roof Truss. Analysis and Design of the building shall be performed using ETABS whereas design of Steel Connections will be done in Idea Statica. Analysis of the building is carried out using Equivalent Static Force approach and Response Spectrum Method. The discussions and designs to be performed are highlighted in the following point: 1. How to draw built-up Steel Columns in ETABS? 2. Modeling of Roof Truss; this includes defining the cross sections for rafters, purlins, top chord, bottom chord and inclined members, drawing and replicating the members and calculation and assigning of loads acting on the truss. 3. Defining and Modeling Deck Slab Section for roof levels in the building – how to define them, where to get the required parameters, what kind of diaphragm to assign for Deck Slab sections. 4. Defining Wind Load and assigning the wind load to the building – based on IS 875 (Part 3):2015. 5. Discussion on Composite Frame Design in ETABS 6. After the completion of modeling and analysis, the design of some steel connections will be demonstrated using Idea Statica. This includes Design of Extended End Plate Moment Connection between Beam and Column and Design of Shear Connection between Primary and Secondary Beams. 7. Excel Sheets shall be provided for the design of the following elements and general discussion shall be done on these designs- a. Roof Truss Purlin b. Battened Column c. Column Splice d. Column Base Plate and Footing
