In this round of Builders Notes, the Tamiya 1/24 Honda S600 model kit! In this video, we'll take a close look at what's inside the box, discuss the build experience, and share some tips for assembling this iconic kit. Released in 2015, the Tamiya Honda S600 kit offers modelers a chance to recreate this classic car in stunning detail. It shares some parts with the older S800 kit from 1997, providing a budget-friendly option for enthusiasts. Priced at under $30, this kit includes high-quality plastic parts, a decal sheet, and metal stickers. During the build, we found minimal flash present, and the chrome parts are cleverly designed to minimize touch-ups, with most gates located on the back. The body engineering hides mold lines well, though there are some minor issues near the boot lid and headlights. Construction is straightforward, with the engine and chassis easily assembled before painting. The movable wheels feature poly caps, but beware of dust attraction on the soft rubber tires. The interior is nicely detailed, though watch out for a small ridge when placing the tub inside the body. While attaching chrome parts is simple, we encountered a slight issue with the door handle alignment. Despite these challenges, the kit comes together smoothly and can be completed over a weekend, though painting and curing times require additional patience. Our results were satisfactory, but we acknowledge room for improvement. Overall, the Tamiya Honda S600 is an excellent kit suitable for both beginner and experienced modelers alike, offering a rewarding building experience. Thank you for watching!
