The Art of Words: An Evening Book Discussion on Classical Education and Children's Books Matthew Mehan Worsham Teaching Fellow, Hillsdale College John J. Miller Herbert H. Dow II Program in American Journalism Director, Hillsdale College ABOUT THE SPEAKER John J. Miller is the director of the Herbert H. Dow II Program in American Journalism at Hillsdale College and national correspondent for National Review, where he is also host of the The Bookmonger. He is the author of several books, including Reading Around: Journalism on Authors, Artists, and Ideas and The Big Scrum: How Teddy Roosevelt Saved Football. Matthew Mehan is the Worsham Teaching Fellow at Hillsdale College’s Kirby Center in Washington, D.C. He received his Ph.D. in literature from the University of Dallas, and is the director of the Jackson Scholars Honors Thesis Program at The Heights School. He is the author of Mr. Mehan’s Mildly Amusing Mythical Mammals, a poetic introduction to the liberal arts. The Allan P. Kirby, Jr. Center for Constitutional Studies and Citizenship is an extension of Hillsdale College in Washington, D.C., and seeks to advance the mission of the College in the nation's capital.
