Hayward H400FD pool heater fixed igniter issue no thanks to Hayward support

My pool heater stopped working and the display showed IO which means the igniter is bad. It was replaced and still showed that code. Troubleshooting came to a halt when Hayward support wouldnt give me any advice on what to check first because I am a consumer and not a technician. Not right. I've repaired or replaced every part of my oil fired boiler, as well as every part of my central air units. If I didnt feel comfortable with the repair I wouldnt have called Hayward, I would have called a pool tech. Based upon the questions I asked support, she no doubt realized I knew what I was doing.
