Here is a compilation I have put together for all of you highlighting the quintessential example of US steam locomotion: the American-type 4-4-0 (and what better way to celebrate Valentine's Day than with the American love affair with the 4-4-0). Several types of 4-4-0s are featured, from the early days to the turn of the Century. As such, this compilation is done is a chronological order featuring 1840s engines first, Civil War engines, 1880s locomotives, and then 1890s/early 1900s locomotives (naturally, C.K. Holliday, E.P. Ripley and Roy O. Disney are featured and special guests General, the locomotives featured in Buster Keaton's film "The General," and the Empire State Express No.999).
