Real vegan Pumpkin Spice Latté Recipe | DIY BETTER THAN STARBUCKS

LAY HO MA everyone! I'm so excited to share this amazing vegan pumpkin spice latte recipe with you! Its so liberating to make this special treat literally from scratch including using real pumpkin to make the puree! We've all been guilty of going to Starbucks everyday of the week and spending a half a fortune buying sugary, syrupy drinks. WHY?! Pick your favourite pumpkin, your favourite coffee beans, gather your spices, and let's get this recipe on the go! This is a two part episode. First we need to make the pumpkin spice puree so that it is ready for your future pumpkin spice lattes! Ingredients for Pumpkin Spice Pureé: 1/2 of a pie pumpkin 2 tbsp worth of fresh ginger 1/2 tsp ground cloves 1/2 tsp nutmeg 2 tbsp cinnamon 1/2 cup cane sugar Ingredients for Pumpkin Spice Latté: 2 tbsp pumpkin spice pureé 1 or 2 shots espresso (your choice) 1 tbsp sweetener (your choice) 1 cup coconut or almond milk Directions for Pumpkin Spice Pureé: 1. bring a pot of shallow water to boil 2. cut your pumpkin in half and scoop out the seeds and guts (keep!) 3. when the water comes to a boil, turn the heat down to med, place your steamer on top, and lower one of the pumpkin halves into the steamer 4. steam the pumpkin for 15-20min or until soft 5. very carefully harvest the meat from the steamed pumpkin 6. in a blender, add the pumpkin, fresh ginger, cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, cane sugar Directions for Pumpkin Spice Latté: 1. in a cup, add your pumpkin spice puree and optional sweetener 2. using your espresso machine, fill your portafilter with coffee grounds 3. run a shot of hot water through the machine to warm it up before pulling the shot 4. tamp the coffee grounds in your portafilter and lock it into the extractor 5. pull the shot of espresso 6. steam 1 cup of coconut or almond milk and froth to your liking 7. pour your steamed milk into your cup and stir If you enjoyed this episode and would love to see more, remember to like, comment, and subscribe so that you won't miss a single episode!
