On the dividing line between Killarney and Upper Houghton, there is a 16 hectare natural reserve called The Wilds. This calm landscape with koppies, hiking trails, and natural waterfalls was made accessible to the public in the 1930s, and it is a sight to behold. But as the park grew incredibly overgrown in the early 2000s, its reputation came under fire. Because of rumors of widespread criminality, many runners, hikers, and tourists maintained a strict distance from the area. Up until one guy stood up to make a change, The Wilds' fate appeared to be no different from that of many other inner-city parks. In an effort to revitalize this lush environment and restore The Wilds to its former grandeur, artist James Delaney set out to clean up the area.
