Sadly Volkswagen did not offer an option for center console background light other than white ring around 12V power outlet. There's not even a small LED in the dome light that would illuminate the center console just a little bit. Additional LEDs are connected to term58d, which means that light will dim with other dashboard buttons, displays and instruments. Closes and most convenient connection is in the 12V power outlet plug. It's the closest to the #cupholders and from there you can easily guide cables to the front cubby.
