Day in the life in the coldest city in the world during winter (-64.4°C) | Yakutsk \ Yakutia, Siberia in Russia - Documentary. Antarctica is the coldest place on Earth. But it is a land of penguins and polar bears. There are no permanent residents. However, if we come a few hundred kilometers south of the Arctic Circle there's a city located in remote Siberia where it gets even colder than Antarctica during winter. Here the average temperature during the winter season is below -40°C and the coldest temperature ever recorded in this city is -64.4°C. This freezing city is none other than Yakutsk, Siberia. Siberia is a remote autonomous region of Russia. During the Soviet era, this area became famous for its vast amount of prisons. Their worst prisoners or people who had opinions against the Soviet government were exiled to these prisons to suffer and die in extreme cold. However, years later following the fall of the soviet union, Yakutsk has somehow become the coldest human inhabited city on earth. Today over 350,000 permanent residents call this city home. But even with modern amenities life here has not got any easier and this is how people survive the most brutal winter season in the coldest city on earth. ► Script and video editing by Alan Bradford. ► Special thanks to all following YouTube channels for providing resources and making this video possible. @KiunB @MattandJulia @ElifromRussia @drewbinsky @YesTheory @JoeHattab @ruhicenetvideos @WindowtoMoscow @MariaSolko @ivantrainsLIVE ► ©️ Please contact me for copyright issues, submissions, and other inquiries: [email protected] Chapters: 0:00 - Intro 1:04 - The Most Hated Month 1:27 - Things to Avoid 1:57 - Stepping Outside 3:27 - The Hazardous Fog 4:01 - The Biggest Mistake 4:37 - Heated Garages 4:45 - Natasha is not who you think 5:15 - The Danger of Driving 5:34 - When the Car Breacks Down 6:29 - The Unseen Public Transportation 6:57 - Going School at -50°C 7:46 - A Walk Though the City 8:15 - Buildings without Foundations 9:33 - The Strange Pipe System 9:51 - The Problem with Central Heating 10:26 - The Problem with Individual Gas Heating 10:56 - The Coldest Open-Air Market in the World 12:38 - Something is Missing in the Farmers' Market! 13:05 - Why not Eating Vegetables? 14:09 - The Insane Yakutian Diet Revealed 14:43 - When a Horse is Slaughtered 15:27 - Being a Horse means Bad Luck? 15:42 - The Most Popular Dish in Yakutsk 15:56 - The Yakutian Dessert and Traditional Knife 16:21 - Yakutian Chocolate is not what you think it is 16:35 - Why Having Freezers Inside the House? 17:01 - The Hardest Jon in the World Thank You for watching!
