Car camped then got an 8AM Monday July 29th start on the trail. I did it in 3 days 2 nights finishing just after 4PM Wednesday. I had good weather and passed 12 people in total on the trail. I had great weather, but the trail is very rugged. As for car camping, there is not much there, some basic sites, decent privacy and one beach with the sand not being of great quality.
