TRIUMPH OF DIVINE LOVE | The Word Exposed with Cardinal Tagle (May 5, 2024) Today is the Sixth Sunday of Easter; we are almost at the end of the Easter season. I hope it has been a time of renewed relationship with the Risen Lord. The gospel for today contains a part of Jesus’s discourse during the supper before his death. He told his disciples: “I no longer call you slaves, because a slave does not know what his master is doing. I have called you friends, because I have told you everything I have heard from my Father.” It is good to remember this as we approach the conclusion of the Easter season and transition to the ordinary time. How do I perceive Jesus? The way we view Jesus also influences the way we live our faith. And the good news is that: Jesus calls us his friends, he does not hide anything from us, and he wants us to remain in his love. A love that comes from the Father.
