Ashok Vatika is very important place in terms of Ramayan for Indians which comprises of Ramayan star cast like Ravan, Meghnath ( Indrajit ), Kumbhkaran, sughriv, Bali, Vibhishan, Angad, and many others... It is the place where Sita was kept in custody or captive by Ravan. This is also the place where hanuman first met Sita. Hanuman also called Bajrangbali has popular bhajan Hanuman Chalisa dedicated to it. Hanuman Jayanti is popular festival celebrated every year. Hanuman ji is also known as Bajrangbali. Also this is the place where hanuman gave the wedding ring by lord ram to sita as an identification.. There is small river/lake in this ashok vatika where sita used to take bath. Lord Hanuman is famous character which was played by Dara Singh in Ramayan. Now a days, Ramayan is very popular that is telecasted in DD national everyday. Now this temple is called Seetha Amman Temple and its well defined in Vishnu Purana and the Hindu epic Ramayana of Valmiki and tulsidas. Same like this Sita Amma temple, Lord Ram's temple is also getting built in Ayodhya that's called Ram Mandir. it's ceremony is said to be done on Aug 5, 2020 and its foundation stone will be laid by Prime Minister of India Shree Narendra Modi. You have to take a bus for Welimada from Main nuwara eliya bus stop to reach this temple which is just 15 minutes drive from main city. Ramayan is being played now a days directly from Ayodhya on DD National LIVE.
