The Friendliest Town in Turkey | SAFRANBOLU

Safranbolu is easily one of our most favourite places in Turkey. Taking its name from the saffron flower/spice, this charming city is famous for their traditional well preserved Ottoman Turkish houses and the entire town is in fact a UNESCO World Heritage Site. What makes Safranbolu extra special though is the people. Turkish folk are known for their friendliness, but Safranbolu we swear have the most friendly, warm and welcoming people we've met in all our travels and that includes outside of Turkey too! We had the most wonderful stay in Akbulut Konak and loved our time with the family who own and operate the beautiful accommodation. We communicated with our host İmam via Google translate and had many long and enjoyable conversations together that way. The Turkish breakfast prepared and served each day by Nuray was next level amazing and we became fast friends with İmam and Buket's son Boran too. We cannot recommend their accommodation in Safranbolu enough.
