I have been conned into participating in a craft fair in a couple weeks. I've even paid money for a booth. Last year the craft fair was held in the parking lot of our church so the booth was free. This year they've moved the location and my 2 'friends' who successfully sold cards are going to again sell cards. I am going to set up my booth with quilted crafts even though my track record is less than successful. Truth be told it was fun just hanging with my friends, but don't tell them I told you that. So, my Mother-in-law suggested that I sell quilts instead of or in addition to the zipper pouches and bowl coozies/cozies I had for sale last year. I decided why not. To keep it simple, I am taking a panel with coordinating fabric for the backing and adding batting to create some cute throws. I am top stitching to eliminate the need for binding. I will free motion quilt around the images for dimension. I saw a video where someone used pool noodles to make basting easier and I show you how I applied that technique in this tutorial. I you haven't made a quilt before, this would be a good way to get your feet wet. I got these panels and coordinating fabric from Hobby Lobby and my local quilt shop in case you want to make one yourself. Update - I found some more of these panels and Joanns. Thank you for watching. Forgive the blurriness in a couple frames - my camera was having trouble focusing - I think the cat knocking over the vase and the camera sitting in water didn't help.
