The key to effective functional glute activation is to integrate it with the biomechanics of the lower extremity during the gait cycle. Open kinetic chain glute activation doesn't translate to functional gait biomechanics. We need to move the foot while activating the glute. This can be done through the process of lower extremity torsion.
