The Lake District | High Street & Wether Hill via Riggindale Edge

Hi Everyone Welcome back to another walk in the Lake District. For the second Friday in a row I had stunning weather. This time I was out in the Far Eastern Fells to tick two new Wainwrights a couple of Birketts and Nuttalls. Starting at the car park at Mardale Head I headed up Riggindale Ridge over Rough Crag and Long Stile to the summit plateau of High Street. The views from here are spectacular. You can literally see most of the mountains of the Lake District, south over to the Coniston Fells, and all the way north to Blencathra and Skiddaw. From here I followed the old Roman Road all the way north over Rampsgill Head and High Raise stopping at the furthest point of the walk, Wether Hill. After a spot of food and drink on the summit of Wether Hill I head south west over Bampton Common and down to the path alongside Haweswater Reservoir. The path is long but easy all the way back Mardale Head and offer some absolutely beautiful views across the reservoir.
